1877 1c Indian Head Cent PCGS XF 45 CAC Die 2 *Key Date* Strong Strike
An original, chocolate-brown 1877 with CAC approval. Some light marks expected for the grade but the overall look is excellent. Only 32 examples are CACed, with 317 graded in XF 45 at PCGS and 242 at NGC, which is a 5.7% ratio of CACed to non-CACed examples. This should make CAC examples worth a decent premium to non-CACs in my opinion, especially with the rampant over-grading of 1877s in general.
This is also a Die 2 specimen, when has a spaced apart date, non-broken D in United, and a small die dot next to the upper hair curl connecting to the ribbon. Having both a Die 1 (skewed dies) and Die 2 (the stronger strike) in a Indian Head Cent collection is definitely an advanced move.
